Jane Peterson – Dental Hygiene Diploma 1995
GDC Number: 4846
Jane qualified as a Dental Health Educator in 1989 before obtaining the Dental Hygiene Diploma at Eastman Dental Hospital, London in 1995. She has worked solely in a specialist periodontal practice for the past 8 years.
Jane’s passion for her profession has led her to set up a local study group for dental hygienists (2007 – 2011) featuring specialist speakers.
Since compulsory CPD in 2008, Jane has become more involved in education and is currently the Chairperson of the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapists Southern Regional Group.
She completed a BSc degree in Oral Health Promotion in August 2014 that encouraged her to reflect on oral health status and develop preventive strategies for all, not just those who visit the practice. This has inspired her to seek to improve oral health education for carers in nursing and residential homes in order to benefit residents.

Initially I qualified as a dental nurse in 2004.
I found that I wanted to expand my skills and knowledge in dentistry. I knew the role of dental hygienist/therapist was what I wanted to pursue. I qualified from the University Of Portsmouth Dental Academy in 2012.
Over the last six years I have worked in private and NHS practices helping to improve patient’s knowledge and understanding of dental health along with giving practical tips to improve oral hygiene. I find working with children particularly rewarding.
I have 3 children who all love to play football. I have a passion for cooking, particularly Jamie Oliver and I like to read, especially Patricia Cornwall books.

As well as being practice manager, Dawn is a registered dental nurse with over 20 years of experience. She has worked in all areas of dentistry including orthodontics, implantology, emergency dental services and maxillofacial in both NHS and private general practice.
Dawn cares greatly about her patients and enjoys putting them at ease. She believes that every patient should leave the practice with a smile.

Emma and Janet are the friendly faces who will welcome you to our practice.
Emma has joined us from working as a receptionist in a prestigious orthodontic practice following a career in administration in a variety of business sectors. Emma enjoys helping out patients with their concerns. She believes finding solutions to their enquiries is a key part of offering an excellent service and contributes to the smooth running of the practice.
In her free time she loves gardening and exploring the beautiful local walks, before finding a good pub for a quiet drink. Her two sons have now left home but meeting up or having them home for weekends or holidays is a great opportunity for catching up especially over a good home cooked supper.
Janet has been a dental receptionist for seven years and has over ten years retail experience. Working in ladies fashion gave her the opportunity to meet all kinds of people, many of whom became good friends who would often just pop in the shop for a chat!
When not at work, she loves working in the garden & spending time with her two grown-up daughters and four grandchildren.
Both ‘girls’ pride themselves in going ‘above and beyond’ their official receptionist duties, meaning they are well-liked and appreciated by our patients.
